Are you dirt broke, but you need a moon box to promote? Try this!
The primary source, or at least it used to be, of acquiring moon boxes is the tactics quest.
First method to gain moon boxes
Tactics quest:
Enter Via the Fortune Teller on the Twin City map (340, 722) North of Robins. Use conductress to Ape City for quick travel. Bring Twin City scrolls with you into the Tactics Arena in case you run into the Death Tactic. Once inside the Tactics you will proceed North and speak with Maggie ( a ghost ) who will teleport you into your first Tactic. Speak to the ghost where you spawn into the map, if it happens to be the Death Tactic, scroll to Twin City and try again. You will need to collect 6 different tokens from 6 different Tactics (each Tactic you teleport to will be random, and may be the Death Tactic) You will need to kill MoonMobs inside the separate tactics to gain these tokens. Once you have the token for the Tactic you are in, you may speak with the ghost again to be teleported back to Maggie. You will then be given an amulet and teleported to the LIFE Tactic, instead of the death Tactic, where you will head North West to speak to the final ghost, and collect your moon box. Warning: Do not insult the ghost or you will lose all progress and get no rewards (this was the case in retail)
Second Method to gain Moon Boxes
Mystic Castle Exterminator Quest:
Use the Boatman in Desert City (455,590) and ask to be teleported to Mystic Castle. Once there speak with Captain Chief (309,640) to check your kill counts on mobs in Mystic Castle however, if you have none, you need not bother. Your quest is to kill 1,200 of each TYPE of mob in Mystic, not each mob. Ex: 1,200 bats can bee tomb bats, bloody bats, vampire bats, or bat kings, or any combination of all of them DO NOT KILL 1200 OF EACH KIND. There are 3 seperate types of mobs; Bulls, Bats and Devils. Once you kill 1,200 of each, speak to Captain Chief again, and collect your rewards.
Rewards: 1 +1 stone, 1 exp ball, 1 refined dragon gem, 1 moon box.
Third Method to gain Moon Boxes
Labyrinth Quest:
You may speak with Simon in Twin City (397,235) and pay 1000 virtue points to enter the Labs. There are 4 levels of Labs, and the level you want to reach is the 4th. You will have to farm for tokens on each level to ascend to the next level of the labs. Once you have collected tokens enough to reach the fourth floor, you will begin searching around for the Lab bosses. They are named Syren, and are not easy to come by. These Lab bosses have a high drop rate for moon boxes, as well as dropping other sought after items such as gems, +(x) items, -dmg(x) items, and coveted socket items. The spawns are random, so good luck.
Hope this helps anyone too frugal, or too poor to buy moon boxes from the store or the salesman.
